Questa è la mia aia

This is my farmyard arises from the desire to give form to an imagined place. A farmyard built slowly through drawing, painting and the practice of egg tempera, with which each animal was made and tended brushstroke after brushstroke. Hens, ducks, geese and turkeys, painted and suspended a few millimetres from the ground, inhabit a fragile space suspended between reality and imagination. The installation takes shape as an evoked landscape, in which the presence of the animals suggests a domestic, affective and symbolic dimension. As in dreams, some figures appear sharp and recognisable while others remain only shadows. The work invites us to cross a threshold space in which memory, desire and imagination intertwine in the construction of a possible place.
