Nuova Vita

Nuova Vita (New Life) is a work created for the exhibition Diversi Presenti at the Società Umanitaria in Milan. Twelve vases, thrown on the wheel, follow one another in a sequence of imperfect forms, marked by asymmetries, fractures, scars. Each vase carries the memory of the gesture that shaped it and of the difficulties met during firing. Those imperfections are not failures but traces of a process — like the wounds and transformations each of us goes through in life. And yet, inside these vases grow medicinal plants, symbols of healing and rebirth. Signs that fragility can become strength, that what has been broken can give life to something new. Because, just as plants find a way to grow even in the most unexpected places, so too can we regenerate and bloom, in spite of everything.
